1.- Aim of the call

    This call aims to set CISO’s musical staff. More precisely, it aspires to fill the “resident artist” positions for the 2024 summer with international musicians coming from all over the world.

* The management reserves the right to invite musicians with special worth and international career to perform leader roles, such as section leaders or the concertmaster.

** Cello players will be required to bring their own instruments.

3.- Requeriments to participate in the auditions

     The minimum age limit is 18 years (on the date of start of the CISO meeting).

4.- Dates

     The Ceuta International Symphony Orchestra Meeting will take place in the city of Ceuta between 28st August (arrival day) and 1st September (concert day). The return journey will be on 2nd September.

5.- Registration for the ON-LINE auditions [Deadline: 16th June] 

• Record yourself on video performing the selected orchestral passages for your instrument. 

• Make sure the online platform where you upload it doesn´t require any password for us to watch it. We reccommend Youtube, Vimeo or Dropbox.

• Complete the form, providing the data required and send it to us. You will receive a confirmation email.

• You will find both the orchestral scores and the registration form at the bottom of this page.

6.- Selected candidates 

• According to the results obtained in the online auditions, the organization will offer two participation modalities to the selected musicians:

  • Option A: Employment contract for Spanish musicians who can duly demonstrate work experience in professional orchestras [€300 net].

  • Option B: Travel expense reimbursement up to €300 [the specific amount for each musician will be linked to the audition result].

  • Option C: The selected candidate will afford the travel expenses from their place of origin to Algeciras.

• If selected, the candidate will receive an invitation document via email specifying the granted participation modality. 

• To accept the invitation and confirm the participation, the musician must send the signed invitation document and also provide proof of ticket purchase for at least part of the journey to Algeciras on August 28th.

7.- Travel + Accomodation + Meals

     Regardless of the participation modality, the organization will additionally cover the following expenses for all musicians:

• Ferry tickets Algeciras - Ceuta - Algeciras. 

• Accommodation at Hostal Plaza Ruiz and Hostal Central in shared rooms [both hostels are located a few meters from the Auditorio del Revellín].

• €100 for meal allowances [€25/day].

• Closing dinner of the meeting on September 1st.

8.- Refunds

• It will be absolutely necessary that any travel costs are claimed accompanied by invoices in the musician’s name. Otherwise the organization may not approve the refund.

• Reimbursements for both travel expenses and meal allowances will be made together via bank transfer to the name listed on the tickets within a maximum period of four months after the conclusion of the event.
